I had been searching for an interior designer who could beautifully blend heritage elements with modern aesthetics to create a timeless home. That’s when I came across By the Riverside on Instagram and I instantly liked their work. From the very beginning, Swati Seran was incredibly open and enthusiastic about taking on our project, even though it was based out of Chennai, something they hadn’t done before. That itself spoke volumes about her passion and commitment. What truly sets them apart is the level of customization they offer. Every design is thoughtfully tailored to the client’s preferences, ensuring that no two homes ever look the same. This kind of personalization is rare to find. Their team is equally talented, providing detailed and impressive 2D renders that help you visualize your space clearly. A special mention to their carpentry team as well, the craftsmanship and attention to detail in execution are outstanding, resulting in a beautifully finished home. It was a long journey, but absolutely worth it. Today, our home stands out with a unique identity and a timeless appeal that we will cherish for years to come. We had been following By The Riverside for some time and when it came to designing our home, we couldn't think of anyone better who would be able to depict us in the design than BTRS. My wife and I both are extremely passionate about nature, art, music and wildlife photography and we wanted our home to represent who we are. We love Swati's (the founder and lead designer) nuanced take on eclectic design with a core rustic flavour in all she does. We reached out to Swati asking if she would be interested in picking up our project. She called us home and spent a lot of time trying to first understand us and our requirements. She within a week came back and said that she would love to pick our project. We were elated and soon the project estimation and design process began. It was a very detailed exercise with focus on bringing personalised elements into the home while keeping it timeless and top quality in terms of execution. We spent about a month and a half zeroing in on the design and personalising it. It was very interactive with multiple discussions and many site visits to visualise the project and make the best use of space. Once the design was finalised, the execution teams quickly took over and started work. The execution quality was quite good with the best quality materials sourced from all around the country. Wherever there were gaps they amended or re did it. The execution was mostly on time with some timelines extending but broadly under control. A big shout out to Pujitha as well who went above and beyond to get everything done from interiors execution to sourcing and looking for the best of decor. There were multiple elements sourced that were offbeat and not ones you would expect in a new home. She has an excellent team who helped us at every step to select furniture, decor and furnishing that would go with our home. We loved the entire experience of making our house into our home and how By The Riverside was able to interpret and execute it. We would highly recommend them for someone who wants a differentiated and personalised take on their home.
