The middle half of homes falls between ₹18 lakh and ₹40.6 lakh.
These are itemised AI estimates over real homes, not designer quotations — the difference is spelled out in the method note below. What no rule of thumb can give you is in the measurement: every number here comes from an actual layout, not a survey answer.

Method
Every home in the index is a real floor plan uploaded by a homeowner to HeyBuddy’s AI design tool. The plan is vectorised into measured geometry (room rectangles with areas), and each room is priced line-by-line — flooring, false ceiling, wardrobes, kitchen work and so on — from HeyBuddy’s 2026 designer rate card at the finish level the homeowner chose. The index reports medians of those itemised estimates; each figure carries its sample size, and slices under n=10 are excluded (this edition: an economy tier of 1 home, plus Delhi NCR (3)). These are estimates, not quotations: a designer’s itemised quote for your actual scope is the real price and can differ by 20% or more. First edition; updated as the data grows.
