What this interior quotation comparison tool does

Quote Check is a free tool for homeowners who have collected quotations from two or more interior designers and cannot tell, line by line, why one costs more than another. You upload the quotations exactly as you received them and it reads every item in each document, then lays them out side by side against a single standard.

Interior quotations are not written to be compared. Each designer names items differently, measures differently, quotes some work per square foot and other work per unit, and includes or excludes things without saying so. Two quotations for the same flat can differ by twenty to thirty per cent and still be describing different amounts of work. This tool separates the part of the difference that is price from the part that is scope, size or material.

Why comparing interior design quotes is harder than it looks

What the comparison checks in each quotation

If a document turns out to be a scope sheet with no amounts against the items, the report says so plainly and compares scope, specification and room totals instead of inventing a price comparison.

How to compare your interior quotations

  1. Upload your quotations. One to analyse a single quote, two to four to compare them against each other. PDF, photographs, Excel or Word all work, up to 5 MB per file.
  2. Verify your mobile number. A one-time password confirms the quotations are yours before the analysis runs.
  3. Read the comparison. You get the line-by-line table, the room-wise split, what is missing from each quotation, and the questions worth asking. You can download the whole thing as a PDF or share it as a link.

Frequently asked questions

Is this tool free?

Yes. Comparing your quotations costs nothing. There is a fair-use limit on how many comparisons one mobile number can run per month; if you reach it and genuinely need more, write to us and we will raise it.

Can the designers see my quotations?

No. Your quotations are private to you. No designer, and no other user, can see the documents you upload or the comparison they produce. Nothing is shared unless you choose to create a share link yourself.

Does HeyBuddy tell me which designer to pick?

No, and that is deliberate. The report stays strictly neutral: it shows you where the quotations differ and why, and it never issues a verdict or a recommendation. The choice, and the negotiation, stay yours.

How many quotations can I compare at once?

Up to four in a single comparison. Upload one on its own if you want it decoded and sense-checked rather than compared.

What file formats can I upload?

PDF, photographs (including phone photos of a printed quotation), Excel workbooks and Word documents. If a designer sent the quotation on WhatsApp as an image, that works too.

My quotation is priced by room, not line by line. Will it still work?

Yes, with an honest caveat. When a document does not put an amount against each item, a rupee-by-rupee item table is not possible, so the report compares scope, specification and room and total prices instead, and tells you clearly that it has done so.

Do I need to have used HeyBuddy to compare quotes here?

No. The tool works on quotations from any interior designer, whether or not they came through HeyBuddy.
